I am disappointed

With the passage of this economic "stimulus" package. Partly because I'm sad at what lost funding (or had funding severely reduced) to make it amenable to the suddenly cautious-about-what-we-greenlight Republicans (yeah, I went there!). And partly because I'm not sure it will do enough to stimulate the economy and create new jobs, etc. To say nothing of the increase in the deficit.

I like having Gabriel give me his not-buying-into-the-political-hoopla perspective (sometimes). But knowledge is power, and sometimes it's easier and more pleasant to be ignorant and oblivious.

Nevertheless, ignorance and obliviousness on the whole aren't good for the whole political participation machine, in my opinion.

Then we're just left with a bunch of Republicans ;)

Yeah, I went there again! And that was much more satisfying than the first time.

And I can talk smack about Republicans, I used to be one. I feel I've earned my position, not that I need to defend it.
